Must-See When You Visit Camden
MT. BATTIE
The view from the top of Mt. Battie is amazing. You can see Camden Harbor, downtown Camden, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park. Definitely a MUST SEE while in Camden.
The best part is you can either hike to the top, or drive to the top. It's part of Camden Hills State Park, so it's a few bucks to get into the park, but the view from the top should not be missed. Be sure to climb the tower to get a 360 degree view of mountains and sea.
THE DAM FALLS
The waterfalls in Camden are such a surprise for many visitors. The Megunticook River runs right under the shops on Main Street (they are on stilts!) and dumps into Camden Harbor. The harbor park on the north side of town is a great place to have a picnic and enjoy the falls.
But the south side of the falls is equally as impressive. Be sure to check the views from both sides.
CURTIS ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
The Curtis Island Lighthouse Overlook is a somewhat hidden trail off Bayview Street, that takes you down to a bench where you can overlook Curtis Island and the lighthouse.
This is an AMAZING place to watch the sunrise (albeit at 5 am), but also just a fun spot to walk to while visiting Camden. Watch the schooners sail out of the harbor during the day. Look for seals in the morning. Or watch the moon rise in the evenings. We love this spot.

SAILING
As sailors, we definitely recommend heading out on the water while you are in Camden. Schooner Olad and Schooner Surprise will take you out on a two hour cruise around Penobscot Bay. You can see wildlife, islands, lighthouses, and amazing sunset. For a more intimate sail, choose a cruise on SV Owl.
You can add a sail to your reservation with us to enhance your stay.
HIKING
We have so many great places to hike around Camden. Some of our favorite hikes: Mount Battie, Maiden Cliff, Beech Hill Preserve, Beauchamp Point, and Fernald's Neck Preserve.
