Our Breakfasts
Our daily complementary two-course breakfasts are Chef's Choice. Start your day with our locally roasted Blue Harbor House Inn blend of Coffee on the Porch coffee, or choose from an assortment of teas, served with juice. Our daily first course often features fruit, yogurt, and/or Matt’s Homemade Granola. You may also find poached pears with cinnamon cream and mixed berries, scones, coffee cake… or other seasonal creations.
The second-course main entrees are house specialties that alternate between savory and sweet. The savory might be various Quiches, Frittatas, Eggs Benedicts, and Roulades, or other creation du jour, served with Matt's perfect skillet potatoes or other yummy side. The sweet might be classic buttermilk pecan waffles topped with seasonal fruit and freshly whipped cream, Maine Blueberry pancakes with our house Maine maple syrup, French toast, or another of Matt’s creations.
All of our breads, muffins, and pastries are made from scratch, including Matt’s signature gruyere popovers.
We use select produce, local and organically grown whenever available (we love to support our local farmers), and we add fresh herbs from our own herb gardens when in season. With advanced notice, we are able to provide an equivalent version of our daily breakfast to accommodate most food allergies or dietary restrictions, including Gluten-Free, and Vegetarian. The one exception: Eggs. Unfortunately, we have not found an acceptable substitute for eggs. And since all of our afternoon treats and breakfast entrees includes eggs, we are not able to provide a comparable substitute. If you have an egg allergy, or cannot eat eggs, our breakfast options, and afternoon treats, may be limited to fruit, nuts, or yogurt.
Blue Harbor House Inn also has mimosas as well as an array of other breakfast cocktails available for purchase with your breakfast each morning.
Our Afternoon Treats
We serve complimentary fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade goodies every afternoon in the dining room by 4 pm. Fancy an apple tart with afternoon tea? Or maybe chocolate chip cookies are your favorite. Whatever treat Matt is serving, you'll love your personalized bag of goodies!
Feel free to hang out on the porch, in the dining room, or take one back to your room. Hot tea and cold beverages are available in the dining room.
