A taste of Scotland in Maine

We have a couple of new additions to our beer selection.  Couldn’t  believe it  when our State of Maine beer supplier told us they had Scottish beer in stock!    So we now have two wonderful new beers for you to try.     We have Belhaven Pale Ale and Belhaven Scottish stout.

Conway Homestead, Cramer museum bean supper, Aug 20th.

If you love history and baked beans then you might want to head to Camden and enjoy a traditional ‘Bean-hole’ supper, at the Conway house, one of the areas oldest homesteads.   So what is a bean-hole supper?

Well,  a deep hole is dug in the ground.  It s lined with stones and logs , lit,  and and  after some time there will be  a deep layer of hot embers. Then,a huge black iron cauldron filled with yellow-eye beans mixed with molasses, salt pork and a touch of cinnamon and clove onto the heat, is lowered into the hole , covered , and left to cook.  It is served with roasted pork, coleslaw and more.   Sound interesting?  Then visit Camden Sat 20 Aug to take part.  Price $10 for adults.

Camden harbor kayak tour

One of our  most  popular  tours  this summer is the two hour  Camden Harbor kayak tour.  At just $35.00 pp this two hour guided tour  is great value, and has had rave reviews from our guests.   You’ll head out past cruising yachts and tall masted schooners, taking in the majestic coastline from a unique perspective.      Still time to book up.  The kayak tour sets off  from Camden harbor, just a short walk from the Inn.  We book the whole thing – you just show up and have fun!
