Maine maple Sunday March 25th, 2012

Join Maine’s maple producers to celebrate Maine Maple Sunday on March 25, 2012.   Nearby sugar houses  offering free tasting include Freyenhagen’s Family Farm, Union.  Sparky’s Apiaries, Hope.   Golden Nugget Sugar Shack, Appleton.  All offering free tastings/ demonstrations of how syrup is produced from tap to table.    Sweetgrass  Farm Winery & Distillery, Union  will offer tastings of it’s  Maple Smash liqueur and distilling demonstration.  Yum!

A taste of Scotland in Maine

We have a couple of new additions to our beer selection.  Couldn’t  believe it  when our State of Maine beer supplier told us they had Scottish beer in stock!    So we now have two wonderful new beers for you to try.     We have Belhaven Pale Ale and Belhaven Scottish stout.

New Specialty Chocolate shop opens in downtown Camden

Just opened at 12 Bayview  street, Camden, ‘Chocolatier  Blue’ uses only fresh ingredients, organic ingredients whenever possible and the finest Italian chocolate.  At the Chocolatier Blue Flagship store in Berkeley, Calif., the top sellers are passion fruit caramel, hazelnut and espresso.  Sounds divine -can’t wait to try some!t300-ChocolatierBlue1

Pop the Cork Celebration June 23rd

Pop the Cork 2011 will be held in Rockport Village and will feature a very special performance by Huey Lewis and The News!

Several fine restaurants in and around Camden have tempting offerings for Maine restaurant week .  Actually it’s longer than a week, but that just gives you more time  to sample them all!  Here are just a few of the restaurants participating -

Free organic Blueberry pick at Beech Hill, Rockport

For all you blueberry lovers, the Coastal Mountains Land Trust is offering a free blueberry pick from 8.30am-2pm on Sat 07 August. Mmm….BHBerries

 Beech Hill Preserve is managed for the purpose of maintaining the property’s scenic beauty, historic value, grassland bird habitat, and organic blueberry production.   Beech Nut, the historic stone Hut on the summit, will be open to the public Fri Aug6th from 2.00pm-6.00 pm., and Sat Aug 07th from 10.00am -2.00pm.

Festival of Independence July 01st-04th

The Festival of Independence is coming!  For four days throughout  the midcoast (July 1-4) you can celebrate our nation’s birthday with everything from music, to plays, to hiking and biking, to parades, and of course, fireworks!

Summer Solstice evening, Rockland, Maine June 19, 2010

A celebration of the Summer Solstice takes place June 19th, in Rockland, just a few miles from Camden.  Time - from 5-9 pm on Main Street. This annual event offers something for the whole family.  Main Street will be closed to traffic for the evening and there will be live music, entertainment, street dancing, food and special events. A fun evening!
