The Festival of Independence is coming! For four days throughout the midcoast (July 1-4) you can celebrate our nation’s birthday with everything from music, to plays, to hiking and biking, to parades, and of course, fireworks!
On Saturday & Sunday, June 19 & 20, the Owls Head Transportation Museum celebrates America’s passion for cool cars with its Hot Rods, Customs Meet & Antique Aeroplane Show.
As part of the day’s activities the Museum will actively demonstrate a few of its turn-of-the-century automobiles as well as give free rides in Ford Model Ts. Special children’s activities and Museum tours are planned. This is one of the Transport museums most popular events. Lots of fun for the whole family.

A celebration of the Summer Solstice takes place June 19th, in Rockland, just a few miles from Camden. Time - from 5-9 pm on Main Street. This annual event offers something for the whole family. Main Street will be closed to traffic for the evening and there will be live music, entertainment, street dancing, food and special events. A fun evening!
The first ever monthly Moonrise on the Bay event is scheduled for tonight (May 28th) at Lincolnville Beach, a 10 min drive from our Inn. The shops and restaurants will be open late, there will be a bonfire, art show, live music, and of course a spectacular moonrise! The event starts at 6:30 PM.
Join ‘The Lady in the Red Cloak” for a lantern lit walk exploring the mysterious haunts and untold history of Camden, Maine. A thoroughly enjoyable tour with ghostly stories and interesting history of the town. Cost $10.00 adults. Tours start at 7pm. May 15, Farnsworth Art Museum will open two major exhibitions at the museum’s Wyeth Center- “N.C Wyeth:Poems of American Patriotism’ and “The Wyeths” Wyeths. Admission $12.00/seniors $10.00. Well worth a visit.

Aldermere farm (Rockport – just a few miles from the Inn) is holding its annual Calf unveiling Day on the 8th May. See some baby Belted Galloway calves . It is a great (Free!) day out, and besides the cattle, there are numerous local farms with fabulous goodies to sell. Sewwell orchard with organic apple cider and cider vinegar, Spruce mountain blueberries to name a couple. Fresh, local, organic. Maine, the way life should be!
