The Camden Civic Theatre ‘s production of ’Macbeth’ is coming soon to the Camden Opera House. I will definitely be going to see this production as my daughter has a (small) part in it! You can see her in the cast picture below. For those of you planning to take in the show while you are in Camden, if you book two nights at the Blue harbor House, in a king suite, through the performance dates, we will buy you two tickets for the play!

Join Maine’s maple producers to celebrate Maine Maple Sunday on March 25, 2012. Nearby sugar houses offering free tasting include Freyenhagen’s Family Farm, Union. Sparky’s Apiaries, Hope. Golden Nugget Sugar Shack, Appleton. All offering free tastings/ demonstrations of how syrup is produced from tap to table. Sweetgrass Farm Winery & Distillery, Union will offer tastings of it’s Maple Smash liqueur and distilling demonstration. Yum!
This coming Saturday will mark the 10-year anniversary of the Camden Winterfest. Ice carvings will be created all day long in the Camden Amphitheater by local amateurs and artists. Winterfest opens Jan. 28 at noon with music and crafts inside and skating and live music outside. It’s a fun day for all!
If you love history and baked beans then you might want to head to Camden and enjoy a traditional ‘Bean-hole’ supper, at the Conway house, one of the areas oldest homesteads. So what is a bean-hole supper?
Well, a deep hole is dug in the ground. It s lined with stones and logs , lit, and and after some time there will be a deep layer of hot embers. Then,a huge black iron cauldron filled with yellow-eye beans mixed with molasses, salt pork and a touch of cinnamon and clove onto the heat, is lowered into the hole , covered , and left to cook. It is served with roasted pork, coleslaw and more. Sound interesting? Then visit Camden Sat 20 Aug to take part. Price $10 for adults.

FREE classic Motown concert at Camden Harbor Park on July 3 at 8:30 p.m. ”Dancing in the Street”with Jr. Walker & the Allstars performing. During the intermission there will be a fantastic fireworks display over Camden Harbor!
In addition to the fireworks and music, the festival will offer outdoor activities, performances, and other family attractions from July 01st through 5th.

Looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift? Coastal plane rides aboard the Museum’s 1941 Stearman and 1933 Waco biplanes may be purchased at any time through the Museum store. Ride certificates do not expire and are transferable. The Stearman carries one passenger and the Waco carries two passengers. Beech Hill Preserve is managed for the purpose of maintaining the property’s scenic beauty, historic value, grassland bird habitat, and organic blueberry production. Beech Nut, the historic stone Hut on the summit, will be open to the public Fri Aug6th from 2.00pm-6.00 pm., and Sat Aug 07th from 10.00am -2.00pm.
ROCKLAND – Friends of the Rockland Public Library are sponsoring a tour of “Our Neighbors’ Gardens” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17 to help support the library.
The tour will feature nine area gardens, including an English inspired garden, a sculpture garden and a formal garden.
Tickets are available at the Rockland Public Library and at Caravans, 415 Main St. in Rockland, for $12 advance or $15 the day of the tour.
