Free organic Blueberry pick at Beech Hill, Rockport

For all you blueberry lovers, the Coastal Mountains Land Trust is offering a free blueberry pick from 8.30am-2pm on Sat 07 August. Mmm….BHBerries

 Beech Hill Preserve is managed for the purpose of maintaining the property’s scenic beauty, historic value, grassland bird habitat, and organic blueberry production.   Beech Nut, the historic stone Hut on the summit, will be open to the public Fri Aug6th from 2.00pm-6.00 pm., and Sat Aug 07th from 10.00am -2.00pm.

ROCKLAND – Friends of the Rockland Public Library are sponsoring a tour of “Our Neighbors’ Gardens” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17 to help support the library.

The tour will feature nine area gardens, including an English inspired garden, a sculpture garden and a formal garden.

Tickets are available at the Rockland Public Library and at Caravans, 415 Main St. in Rockland, for $12 advance or $15 the day of the tour.

Aldermere Farm visitors center open for the season July 12th

IMAG0245For those that are interested in learning about Aldermere Farm and the Belted Galloways that came all the way from Scotland in  1950,  here is your opportunity!   The visitors center is open Monday and Tuesday  2.00-4.00pm, starting July 12th. Wed 10.00- 4.00, Thurs 10.00-5.00 and Fri  and Sat 10.00-2.00pm.  There are also  various ‘Beltie’ retail items for sale.

Custom vehicle and Antique Aeroplane Show

On Saturday & Sunday, June 19 & 20, the Owls Head Transportation Museum celebrates America’s passion for cool cars with its Hot Rods, Customs Meet & Antique Aeroplane Show. 
As part of the day’s activities the Museum will actively demonstrate a few of its turn-of-the-century automobiles as well as give free rides in Ford Model Ts. Special children’s activities and Museum tours are planned.  This is one of the Transport museums most popular events.  Lots of fun for the whole family.

Summer Solstice evening, Rockland, Maine June 19, 2010

A celebration of the Summer Solstice takes place June 19th, in Rockland, just a few miles from Camden.  Time - from 5-9 pm on Main Street. This annual event offers something for the whole family.  Main Street will be closed to traffic for the evening and there will be live music, entertainment, street dancing, food and special events. A fun evening!

Moonrise on the Bay, Lincolnville Beach, May 28th

The first ever monthly Moonrise on the Bay event is scheduled for tonight (May 28th) at Lincolnville Beach, a 10 min drive from our Inn.  The shops and restaurants will be open late, there will be a bonfire, art show, live music, and of course a spectacular moonrise! The event starts at 6:30 PM.
