On July 05th Tess Gerritsen’s new thriller ‘The Silent Girl’ goes on sale, with a book signing by the author at the ‘Owl and Turtle’ bookshop in downtown Camden. 6.00-7.30pm. Tess Gerritsen, from Camden is the author of more than ten New York times best selling thrillers. She is of my favorite authors at the moment. We have pretty much all of her books in our guest library, where they find a home after I have read them. I will be in the queue to get her new signed book!
FREE classic Motown concert at Camden Harbor Park on July 3 at 8:30 p.m. “Dancing in the Street”with Jr. Walker & the Allstars performing. During the intermission there will be a fantastic fireworks display over Camden Harbor!

Seven land-accessible lighthouses along the mid-Maine coast will open for the Midcoast Maine Lighthouse Challenge, a two-day self-guided driving tour along the coastline from Pemaquid Point, tipping the peninsula south of Damariscotta, to Castine, on the western edge of the Blue Hill peninsula. Most will open their towers to visitors. Also part of the itinerary is the Maine Lighthouse Museum, in Rockland, just nine miles from the Blue harbor House Inn.
Included on the tour are: Dyce’s Head Light, Castine; Fort Point, Stockton Springs; Grindle Point Light, Islesboro; Rockland Breakwater Light, Rockland; Owls Head Light, Owls Head; Marshall Point Light, Port Clyde; and Pemaquid Point Light, Pemaquid.
Special displays at the Rockand Breakwater Lighthouse, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., will highlight modern optics for lighthouses and navigation and show how the Coast Guard keeps the lights at many of Maine’s offshore stations. The M/V Rendezvous will offer water passage to the lighthouse throughout the day, from Middle Pier in Rockland, or hike nearly one-mile hike along the breakwater to reach the lighthouse at its tip.

Looking for the perfect Father’s Day gift? Coastal plane rides aboard the Museum’s 1941 Stearman and 1933 Waco biplanes may be purchased at any time through the Museum store. Ride certificates do not expire and are transferable. The Stearman carries one passenger and the Waco carries two passengers. Price is $200 and $350, respectively and includes a membership to the Museum.
